ABOUT

LINDSEY WHITELAW & HARRY CHRISTOPHIDES

This ethic is also part of Lindsey’s life who, following a successful Landscape architectural career, is providing her work and time to an exhibition and project for those with visual impairments (www.windowsofthesoul.art).

The environment is a key passion for both of them. While Harry is repurposing materials and focusing on recycling unwanted or rejected hardware and resources, Lindsey is responding to the natural world around her, celebrating its power and vulnerability. Harry’s ethos of avoiding waste, compliments a number of Lindsey’s paintings depicting the importance of nature and the environment and how we must honour and protect it.

“Harry and I have an interesting creative dynamic. I respect and love what he makes and he always has an unique and sometimes challenging approach to his creations. As well as his sculptures he has also made many things for our home and family including jewellery, carved decorative holders, tables and lamps. They are practical yet beautiful in a completely unique style. I am thrilled that others are enjoying his work too.”

“Lindsey is passionate about the creative process and I have seen how making art fulfils her. Sometimes frustrating but definitely fulfilling. It has been a great experience to watch her grow as an artist. I am grateful that we are where we are and that we still have exciting times ahead for our art and our lives.”

Lindsey and Harry are separate artists with different styles and discipline inextricably linked in life - as partners - and through a shared passion for nature, the environment and the world around them.

They met in 1995 on a joint architecture and landscape project and began their lives as a couple in 2001, enjoying art, design and travel. They have over 100 pieces displayed in their home and studio as a homage to their taste, talent and skill.

Travel and cultural influences, including England and Cyprus (their respective native homes) are woven throughout their pieces. Harry grew up in Cyprus helping his father in his workshop which instilled not only a work ethic but also a passion for working with his hands. He has spent much of his working life as a successful architect while helping others to realise their own dreams and empowering them. This ethic is also part of Lindsey’s life who, following a successful Landscape architectural career, is providing her work and time to an exhibition and project for those with visual impairments (www.windowsofthesoul.art). Lindsey's work for the Windows of the Soul exhibition is currently on display in Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.
