Iomani

Our 250 year old village house in Cyprus is a continuous work-in-progress DIY project, one of which is enlarging the window in the main living room. At dusk calm descends. Darkness disguises disorder and chaos of part finished projects. The house settles, becoming still and peaceful.
 
We are looking through French doors framed by a light voile curtain and dark wall. A red tiled floor leads the eye into the room interrupted by dust motes, a shaft of evening sunlight creating a white patch in the foreground. The furniture is pushed aside forming a ghostly cube, centre right. A dark unfinished window punctures the back wall of pearly creamy grey.
